A new location and an additional recipient have been selected by the Waves Gala Ball committee for Saturday’s fourth annual charity bash.

The Warrnambool State Emergency Service unit will benefit from the sold-out charity ball, as well as long standing partner Peter’s Project.

The ball has changed venues to Warrnambool’s Deakin University campus.

It was previously held on the Civic Green in the Fun4Kids Festival marquee after the completion of the festival.

Committee member Bernadette Price said the change of location for the black tie ball was exciting.

“The marquee for the past three years has been great,” she said.

“This year it will be held in the cafeteria, bar and outdoor deck area.”

Mrs Price said Warrnambool Bus Lines would pick up ball-goers from Warrnambool’s CBD and drop them at the university campus.

“The bus line have donated that service, which is great,” she said.

“Buses will also bring people back into town at the end of the night. It will alleviate any issues on how to get out there and back home.”

A three-course meal will be served by Ginger Kitchen and popular Melbourne band Popcorn will provide live entertainment.

A silent auction will be held, as well as a main auction.

“We have a Gold Coast holiday for five days for four people, a Port Fairy getaway package, a couple of holiday house packages in the Grampians and a Warrnambool Racing Club package up for auction,” Mrs Price said.

Since its inception in 2012 the gala ball has raised more than $100,000 for Peter’s Project.

Buses will leave from the Whaler’s Hotel at 5.15pm.
